Sneak Peak: Possible New Filofax Inserts!

Today I’m going to be a bit mean, giving you just a sneak peak of a random project I’ve been working on. You see, after writing my post on finding your own planner perfection, I began to wonder if I had really found planner perfection. Not necessarily with my Malden, which I’m pretty sure is as close to a perfect binder as can be, but with my diary.

So, I spent a few hours thinking about what I would want if I could have ANY type of insert, then designed something that comes really close. I’ve literally just printed it this morning, so I’m planning on testing it for at least a week before I report back and share the full details with you all. But I will tell you this- it’s still two pages per day, but in a completely flipped layout. Hopefully this will take a few of my qualms of my Franklin Covey inserts and make them nonexistent.

Since I’m at work, they clearly aren’t cut or punched yet- I’ll be doing that as soon as I get home. I already have a few changes, hence the test run to see what really becomes of them. Who knows, I might discover that my FC inserts are better than I thought! But so far, these little homemade guys are looking pretty tempting- they might even be the first thing to make me switch inserts mid-year!

Stay tuned 🙂

  1. Interesting…can't wait to see what you've come up with and if it works for you!! I ordered my FF inserts last night and also ordered some tabs and monthly pages from Sachiko…can't wait for them to come in. Work has been busy so I need something more than my circa right now.

I've tried making my own pages but need the heavier paper for the circa.

What punch do you use for your personal pages?

    Thanks!
    Lisa

  2. Hi Lisa,

Thanks for reading! I just got them all cut out and punched… so far they are looking pretty good 🙂

I've never heard of Sachiko- I'll have to check them out. I've always used the standard old metal Filofax punch since I've never really punched too much at any given time. If this new homemade layout works well for me, I may have to rethink that, though!

  3. Hi J,
Wow, interesting development! Did you choose the page size of the Personal Filofax? And do you make your own monthly tabs?
    Can't wait to see it!

  4. Hmm, I'm liking the look of these already. Will they *ahem* end up in your forthcoming Etsy shop? 😉

  5. Hmmm, I'd look at the Philofaxy blog- I know there are a few punches out there that punch all different sizes. I think that's what I'd do if I were to buy another one!

  6. Haha, thanks!

They may be available- depends on many things: demand (they are set up very specifically to my wants/needs), and then I have to see how cheap I can get them printed for/how long it takes me to cut and punch. It would be kinda silly to make inserts for sale, but then have to charge $50 per year!

  7. Hey Jotje! Yep, one change is that they are back to FF personal size!

Still working on figuring out those monthly tabs…

  8. True! Although I have to say I wouldn't mind paying a little more for something that's better quality/fits more with what I need. Just sayin'. 🙂
