Month in Review: April (2013) Showers, Organization, and Recipes!

I feel like this year is literally flying by. I have no idea how it is already May, but here we are. Fortunately, it didn’t take me the majority of this month to get to the monthly review, like it did for the March review. April seemed just as crazy, but fortunately there were quite a few fun things thrown in. Let’s take a look back, shall we?

The Recipe of the Week feature exposed my desire for warmer weather, including hot weather recipes like Parmesan balsamic grilled asparagus, homemade banana ice cream, spinach rolls, and cheddar biscuits.

Food was evidently my focus in April, as I also shared a tip for hard “boiled” eggs in the oven, and how Brian and I started making our own homemade beef jerky.

The whole reason we made so much jerky was for the most fun part of April – a trip to Georgia and Kentucky for rock climbing and Bourbon sipping. It was so nice to get away for a few days, sleep in a tent, climb some rocks, and see how my favorite Bourbon is made!

April also presented some challenges, and proved that I still have a lot to work on, especially when it comes to controlling my emotions in difficult situations. It’s something I’m still working on, but I’m definitely getting better!

The most popular post of the month was definitely Filofax related – my post that shared my new insert design, a freebie, and my Filofax Malden set up video got almost 600 hits! Thank you all for being so interested in my crazy little planning and DIY adventures!

Overall, April was another busy month. And wet. I guess I failed to mention the crazy amount of cloudy, rainy days we had during April, including some record flooding. Let’s hope May is a bit more dry and sunny!
